Finally got to the top of Mt Wire today...foggy inversion in the valley, but half way up the heavens opened and it was a bit of heaven the rest of the way up...sections of this trail are pretty straight up and relentless but manageable in a sucking wind sort of way...think it took me about 53 or so minutes to get to the red towers and when I was about at the top I come to this lady who I have seen on this trail before, tiny, tiny and steady strong hiker...but looks about 70 or so...man is she tough.  Fun day... not sure yet how much vert this is.

Nice work! The vert is actually around 2180. That old lady you saw has climbed the peak a few thousand times. One of my friends that has done it about 300 times told me this old lady used to climb it every day. That's what I want to be doing when I am her age.
