Have been on vacation in Italy and Switzerland for the last two weeks and basically havent run.  (a total of 5 miles while on vacation).  Tried to just get out today and muscle back into some running mode.  Wasnt pretty.  Taking two weeks off with jet lag involved is difficult.  Europe was great.

Painful run.  I feel as if I have never run before and I am starting over.  Of course I have hardly slept in the last week.  avg 8:18  all painful and feel fat.  Motivated though to get back into shape.  Seriously wondering how I ran the Ogden Half in 1:44 just last month.  That seems impossible currently.

Today was a near disaster.  I would have called search and rescue if I had a cell on me.  I havent run for a while but really wanted to get in a good one today.  So I thought I would do the 8 mile circle up 45th to wasatch blvd, around old mill and back home along holliday blvd. I am sore from waterskiing and still jetlaged.  It was hotter than expected and I didnt get an early start because I was helping sister sarajane with packing her moving van.  I never stopped going up 45th which is the 1st time for me except I was moving slower than my 8 year old could walk it Im sure.  Anyway I really started groin and thigh cramping and dehydration about 4 and half in.  The rest was torture some walking some running.  Finally made it home since no one would rescue me.  Nick if this happens on the McKenna Beach trail you will have to come back and rescue me out of the lava fields.
