Grandeur Peak bagging this morning... except this peak bagged me I think.  I am wasted.  Left parking lot around 8:30 and started up in a ferocious headwind for the first mile.  Just tried to keep steady pace with out stopping, but I always seem to have to stop to get a few blows with about a half mile to go.  Was still snow up on the ridge line and I was dawdling a bit when I notice a runner girl cruising up behind me fast so I made a push to keep it going to the summit where she caught up the rest of the gap and finished only about 2 seconds behind me to the peak...I was there in about 1:12 and she had done it in 58...crap she was cruising, but gave me a high five and then we went down the backside...this area is still heavily snow packed and at the steep part was just a fun 100 yard bum slide down to slightly less steep area.  Was super fun actually but the trudge out the next half mile froze my feet.  Lumbered the rest of the way down churchfork to rattlesnake then millcreek road back to the lot...totally gassed but happy.

Awesome! This is one of my favorite runs. Last time we went down the backside and the snow had a hard crust that was so sharp and it cut my leg. I still have a bruise from it about a month later.

The winds on that west ridge can be brutal. The only time this year I have turned around on a mountain was one morning in Feb after about 100 yards. Haha!

Nice work!!!

Sweet! I think the most tired I've ever been is after running up and down mountain hillsides. So I can totally see why you were gassed out!
