Ran 5.5 today.  7:59 to 8:18.  Felt relatively good until mile 5 which was uphill.  That seems to be one of my weaknesses.  But downhill is always easier right?  I am increasing my general work out distance to try and get some stamina and less pain in my groin ligaments.

I didn't work out today due to too many babies clouding the forecast.  I will try and repent for tomorrow.  I need to find a nice scheduled job so I can run.  Wait a minute, are my priorities getting screwed up?

This was a big run for me. I haven't really embraced the "long run" on Saturday before. I decided to go out slow and stay slow and end slow. Just trying to build some endurance. Is this the right way? It was a good run overall. Beautiful morning. One big hill in the mid run. Still sore in the inner thigh, but not crazy.

Just over 5 miles. avg 8:20.  Very painful this morning for some reason.  Side ache for nearly all of the miles.  I think I just went out too fast and didn't have any nutrition to fall back on.  Maybe the fact I was on call last night had something to do with it.  A nurse told me I looked like the most recent James Bond though, so life is still good I guess.  She is legally blind however...

Today was an overall fast run for me.  08:10 avg.   8:24, 8:46 mostly up then the last 3 mostly down 7:45 8:02 7:52... felt good but I couldn't have sustained that much longer.  Not bad for a coffin boy though so I am relatively happy.  Happy Birthday to Nicholas.

I went 6 with average 8:29.  miles 3,4,5 avg 8:05.  I was sore but happy to get some in because I havent run for 6 days and I stayed up all night seeing some ER patients in the hospital.  I did hike 9 miles on Saturday in Goblin valley.  It was nice.  I'm wondering if I only run 3 days a week but at least 5 miles, am I doing any good compared to just running my 4 or so with one long run.

treadmill while on vacation.  I'm not sure I will ever get on the treadmill again. only 2 miles but at least it was something.  on saturday I watched the leaders of the slc marathon run by at 25 mile mark... and when I say running they were absolutely flying.  I am a different creature.   Anywho, I will try to push for a longer run monday to get ready for a the Ogden half .  Interestingly I am tapering down the running instead of increasing the mileage, maybe I should embrace the trend.

Ran 8 with average pace 8:32. Enjoyed the time overall on this beautiful morning. I'm always sore and tired...that's the one problem.

One baby born. Then Ran 5 in the hail and drizzle. It was fantastic.  I think I like this weather best for some reason.  Anyway, 8:38, 7:59, 8:06, 8:04, 8:18   avg 8:14.  I just can't seem to run any faster on the uphill segments.  Overall, a fun bit of excercise.  I will try and do a long run Saturday.

Good run today up 45th, around Old Mill on Wasatch, then back home through holladay blvd.  1:25:19  avg 8:32   My fastest mile was number 8 in 7:35, funny thing was this was only because a sprite 50ish year old asian woman started running with me.  She kept saying "I hope I don't slow you down" and I kept saying "don't you worry, you are kicking my butt."  She just moved to SLC from New Hampsire and ran Boston last week in 3:32.  I had to gracefully peel off after a mile or so, soI could start sucking my usual wind, but it was fun to run with and be pushed by someone for a while.  Felt pretty good until hill at mile 9 1/2.

Painful miles today.  Average 8:14.  But I didn't feel good, and I needed a two mile potty break.  Thank goodness for construction sites.  I have developed a love for the green "port a john" that seems out of touch with a good healthy life.  It is so interesting to me that excercise feels so different from day to day.  I am becoming more convinced that it is based on sleep and maybe more importantly the right nutrition, neither of which I have a great handle on yet.
